Corporate responsibility is a subject close to my heart! Ever since I was a child, questions regarding the sensible use of resources have accompanied me: Can I still repair and reuse things or put them to another good use? Be it old bicycles from grandparents, or parents and aunts experiencing a revival. It was fantastic to ride through the streets on the refurbished Bonanza bike or to feed the piglets at my grandparents’ farm – all in the spirit of resource conservation – with leftover food.
As the daughter of a company founder, I gained an early insight into economic topics such as entrepreneurial thinking. I learned that entrepreneurial thinking and acting means that decisions can have far-reaching consequences and that I have responsibility for my employees – in good times and bad. At the same time, it means being brave, making decisions and trusting your team. Numbers and transparency are central pillars here.
I was also influenced by the insights I gained into the sustainability strategies and management approaches for sustainable business at the Otto Group, Budnikowsky and Tchibo during my Master’s studies in 2006. Based on these practical application examples of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), I quickly realised: Sustainability is the future!
As the founder ofplanZ, I can pass on my vision. I am convinced that a shift towards more sustainability is possible and a win-win for everyone can be achieved. We just have to get involved and start shaping our future today – together.
Taking responsibility, embracing values, always meeting each other at eye level and dealing fairly with each other are the foundations of my actions. So it stands to reason that I would also like to pass on and exemplify these values to my two daughters in private.
My expertise
Before founding planZ, I was Corporate Responsibility Manager at THIMM Group GmbH + Co. KG, where I shaped and developed the topic of sustainability from the ground up. My main tasks included the development and implementation of the sustainability strategy; the establishment and coordination of a decentralised CR organisational structure (incl. professional coaching); sustainability reporting; the initiation, conceptualisation and management of various CR projects and working groups; the preparation of SMET audits at domestic and foreign locations; the processing of extensive CR questionnaires (e.g. EcoVadis, SEDEX, Drive Sustainability) as well as supporting customer projects in various industries (e.g. FMCG, retail, automotive).
Through my work in the LEADER project “AuWeNa – On track to Sustainability”, in the form of further education modules on the topic of sustainability, as well as sustainability dialogue in southern Lower Saxony, I am constantly establishing new contacts and creating the impetus for sustainable management.
What’s important to me
As a sustainability manager and consultant, I emphasise a pragmatic and purposeful approach that is well-suited to the stakeholders and that pays close attention to their objectives. This includes fair, open and appreciative cooperation as well as good teamwork – sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas and developing topics together.
My goal
Thinking about tomorrow, today and shaping a future worth living for my daughters and all future generations.
